Terms & Conditions

1. DEFINITIONS

1.1 The “Hire Company” refers to Events by Lania.

1.2 The “Client” refers to the person, firm, or corporation hiring equipment or obtaining styling services from the Hire Company.

1.3 The “Product(s)” refers to all hire items, equipment, and packaging supplied to the Client.

1.4 The “Order” refers to any booking where the Client has paid a deposit or the balance in full.

1.5 “Terms” means these Terms and Conditions of Hire.

2. PAYMENTS

2.1 A minimum spend of $300 applies to all Orders, exclusive of delivery fees and supplier items.

2.2 A 20% deposit is required to secure the Client’s chosen Products for the event date specified in their quote.

2.3 Once the Client’s deposit is received, their quote becomes a confirmed Order.

2.4 The balance payment is due 4 weeks prior to the event date. Failure to make the final payment by the due date may result in cancellation of the Order with no refund.

2.5 In the event of non-payment, the Client agrees to bear all costs of recovery, including legal fees and debt collection charges.

3. BOND

3.1 A $200 bond is required for all Orders.

3.2 The bond will be refunded via bank transfer within 72 business hours after all Products have been counted and inspected for damage.

3.3 If any Products are found to be damaged, missing, excessively unclean, or require replacement, the Client will be notified, and the bond will be partially or fully retained.

3.4 If the cost to repair, replace, or clean Products exceeds the bond amount, the Client will be invoiced for the additional cost, which must be paid within 7 days.

4. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

4.1 All deposits and payments made are non-refundable. This is to account for the time, resources, and preparations allocated to each booking.

4.2 If the Client cancels their booking, all payments made will be converted to store credit, which can be used toward a future event within 12 months, subject to availability.

4.3 Change of Date: Clients may request a date change, which is strictly subject to availability. Any changes must be made at least 14 days before the event.

5. PRODUCT & DATE CHANGES

5.1 The Client may add or substitute Products of equal or higher value up to 48 hours before the event, subject to availability.

5.2 Date changes are permissible but strictly subject to Product availability.

6. PRODUCT DAMAGE & RESPONSIBILITY

6.1 All Products are cleaned and inspected by the Hire Company before being provided to the Client.

6.2 Once the Products have been delivered to or collected by the Client, the Client assumes full responsibility for their care, storage, and use to prevent damage.

6.3 The Client must notify the Hire Company of any issues or dissatisfaction within 4 hours of receiving the Products.

6.4 If damage occurs during the hire period, the Client must immediately notify the Hire Company.

6.5 The Client agrees to pay the full cost of repairing or replacing any damaged, stolen, or missing Products.

  • Costs will first be deducted from the bond.

  • Any outstanding balance exceeding the bond will be invoiced and must be paid within 7 days.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

7.1 The Hire Company’s total liability for any claim, including negligence, shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for the hire services.

7.2 The Hire Company shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from the hire or use of its Products, including but not limited to loss of revenue, business, or reputation.

8. GENERAL PRODUCT HIRE CONDITIONS

8.1 The Client is responsible for ensuring Products are properly stored, displayed, and used to prevent damage.

8.2 Products set up by the Hire Company must not be moved or altered without prior written consent.

8.3 All Products must be carefully cleaned and placed back in their original packaging before being returned or picked up (excluding wedding events).

8.4 The Hire Company will provide specific cleaning instructions if required.

9. FORCE MAJEURE

9.1 The Hire Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in fulfilling obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, floods, fires)

  • Pandemics or government-imposed restrictions

  • Industrial strikes or supply chain disruptions

  • Acts of terrorism or war

9.2 In such cases, the Client will be offered store credit or an alternative rescheduling arrangement.

10. INDEMNITY

10.1 The Client assumes full liability for any property damage, personal injury, or third-party claims arising from the use or hire of any Products supplied by the Hire Company.

10.2 The Client agrees that Events by Lania is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Hire Company.

11. AGREEMENT TO TERMS

By making a booking and paying a deposit, the Client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
